Real ginger root is perfectly fine to be used during pregnancy. Simply peel the skin, slice and add it to food or tea. It is great for morning sickness. Be careful with other ginger products, such as ginger ale, as often they don’t contain any ginger but just artificial flavouring or a very small amount of ginger. I would also avoid the capsules as there is some question marks over the source of the ginger and the purity of the end product. Try to stick with the real thing, my second choice would be the candied or crystalized ginger.
