So pretty much here’s how it is. I’m 16, weigh 140lbs, and I’m 6’0. Today is P90X day 3 for me and I obviously don’t need to lose weight. From everything I’ve read everyone is saying P90X is strictly for weight lose and fat people, not for skinny guys to gain muscle. Well I call bull on that, and I don’t want you to tell me I’m not gonna get any muscle gains from this. I want to know HOW I can get those muscular gains and ad a bit of mass. I don’t want to be huge! I want to get at about 155- 165, lean and muscular. I’m not going for Arnold size, I’m looking for more of a Hollister, Abercrombie type physique if you catch what I’m saying. I’m not super weak considering I never worked out prior to this. With proper form I curl about 25lb dumbbells 8-10 times with a max curl of 35lbs dumbbells. I’m trying to eat a good amount of protein throughout the day, 60g of that being after my workout in a Whey shake. I need help from someone to give me tips on how I can get the look I’m looking for through P90X. It’s the only thing that has peaked my interest workout wise, and thats why I’m doing it.

Answer:
I’ve done weight training when I was in high school and have done P90X during the summers. I can definitely tell you that P90X is not just for people who want weight loss. I never worked out before I started doing weight training and P90X. I was as skinny as a twig with practically no muscle whatsoever. After P90X, I never thought I would have as much muscle as I gained. Sure, I was no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I was still impressed with the results I got! What I can tell you is that if you decide to proceed further into P90X, then I hope you’re ready to eat, because you’ll need to do a lot of eating so that you don’t lose a dangerous amount of weight. Whoever told you that P90X is strictly for individuals who want to lose weight is a moron, because I was skinny before I started the program. Just follow the workout plan that came with your DVD and you’ll be fine. If you feel that you’re heading towards something too bulky, then don’t lift too heavy of weights and consider where you want to be the “destination point” to where you want your body to be. Good luck!
